Other people's light
Nothing here is self-made. These are the debts — named specifically, because gratitude that stays vague is just politeness.
Books and writing that rearranged something
- The Pillow Book, Sei Shōnagon — this entire site is downstream of her lists. A thousand years old and more personal than most things posted today.
- Calvino, Invisible Cities — for proving a structure can be the story.
- Add the book you actually reread, not the one that impresses.
Tools I use and would defend
- Claude — I built this site in conversation with it, and I am not embarrassed by that. The taste decisions stayed mine; the arguing helped.
- n8n — for the quiet automations that hold my routines together.
- NotebookLM — for reading collections too large for my attention alone.
- Plain HTML and CSS — the most durable technology I have ever used. This page will open in thirty years.
People whose standards I borrowed *
- The teacher who returned my work with one question instead of a grade.
- The internet stranger whose repository taught me what care looks like in code.
placeholder page-note: entries marked * need your real books, tools, and people. The Shōnagon, Claude, n8n, and plain-HTML entries reflect this project's actual history — edit freely but they are true as written.
